Michael F. Roizen, MD
Co-Founder and Chief Medical Advisor
Dr. Roizen has both the medical and business experience to help make Trio Health successful. He was the co-founder of the Executive Health Program at the University
of Chicago,
and until July 2003 staffed the Executive Health Program there
two-days a month.
Dr. Roizen is the former Chairman of the Department of
Anesthesia and Critical Care at the University of Chicago.
During his 16 years as the head of this top 10 nationally
rated department, Dr. Roizen led the department from $0
in peer reviewed funding and 6 publications, 12,000 anesthesia
hours, and a financial deficit in 1984, to over $3 million
a year in peer reviewed funding, over 100 peer reviewed
publications, 58,000 anesthesia hours and the largest
financial surplus of any department in 1999-2000. He then
became Dean of the School of Medicine and Vice-President
for Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Upstate. On July 1, 2005, he became Chair of the Division of Anesthesia,
Critical Care Medicine & Comprehensive Pain Management for The Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Roizen is the past chair of a Food and Drug Administration
advisory committee, an editor or associate editor for
six medical journals, and has published more than 155
peer-reviewed scientific papers, 100 textbook chapters,
30 editorials, and three medical books (one a 'medical'
best-seller, translated into 13 languages). His first
lay book, RealAge: Are You As Young As You Can
Be? published by Harper-Collins, became a #1 New York Times bestseller. His most recent book, “You: The Owner’s Manual”
is also a #1 New York Times bestseller with over 2 million copies in print. Dr Roizen has given talks to medical
groups in 49 of the US states and 16 foreign countries,
over 1000 lectures on medical topics to professional medical
groups, and has been recognized with over 20 named professional
lectureships.
Dr. Roizen is a founder and serves as Director of the
Science Team of RealAge, Inc.
(RealAge.com). RealAge, Inc. provides information and solutions to help people
live healthier, longer lives. Since 1999, over 12 million people have taken the
patented RealAge test, which is widely accepted as the gold standard for measuring
individual health status. RealAge has also become an international brand, through
a health
reality show that was the number one rated TV program
in Holland for 17 of its 20 "episodes". Sponsors
plan to syndicate the program to more than 10 countries.
Dr. Roizen is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Williams College, and
Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of the University of California,
San Francisco medical school. He performed his residency
in internal medicine at Harvard's Beth Israel Hospital
and completed a tour of duty at the National Institutes
of Health in the laboratory of Irv Kopin and Nobel Prize
winner Julius Axelrod. He is certified by both
the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American
Board of Anesthesiology. back

Aaron Gerber, MD, MBA
President and Chief Executive Officer
As the General Manager of Physicians Interactive and Group
Vice President of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions (NASDAQ:
MDRX), Dr. Gerber was responsible for the overall management
and leadership of the Physicians Interactive business
unit of Allscripts.
During his four
years as head of the Physicians Interactive business,
Dr. Gerber grew the company from 2 clients, 5 employees
and $150,000 in revenue, to 41 clients, 50 employees and
over $12,000,000 in revenue, making it the most profitable
business unit at Allscripts.
Dr. Gerber came to Allscripts from Sprout Group, the venture
capital affiliate of Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette.
At Sprout Group, Dr. Gerber was responsible for all phases
of the investment process and focused on companies in
the areas of health care services and health care information
technology.
Prior to his tenure at Sprout Group, Dr. Gerber was a management consultant
for McKinsey & Company, where he worked with a number
of national and international health care service and
product companies on a variety of strategic and operational
engagements.
Dr. Gerber received his Medical Doctorate from Northwestern
University Medical School and his Master of Management
degrees from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management
at Northwestern. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Bronze
Tablet with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from
the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Jane Spinner, MSW, MBA
Chief Operating Officer
Jane Spinner (MSW, MBA) has over 20 years of operations and consulting experience in the
health care industry. For 10 years, she was CEO of the Michigan Heart
and Vascular Institute in Ann Arbor, Michigan, forming the Institute
with 13 physicians in two cardiovascular specialties at three sites
and growing it to over 40 physicians in four specialties at 7 sites.
During her tenure, she spearheaded a national initiative through the
Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) that resulted in an award
given to only four cardiovascular centers in the country. The award
was based upon ability to achieve high quality outcomes while
significantly decreasing cost.
The national attention received as a result of this award and Ms.
Spinner’s experience with service line business planning, marketing
and program development led her to
start her own consulting firm in
1998, specializing in center of excellence development, physician-hospital
collaboration, strategic marketing planning and leadership development.
She has worked with hospital systems and large physician groups to develop
centers in cardiovascular care, cancer, orthopedics, integrative medicine
and wellness.
Prior to her experience at the Michigan Heart and Vascular Institute,
Ms Spinner was a hospital administrator at a large medical center,
and vice president of marketing and business development for the health
care division of a large retail drug chain. She has also been a national
lecturer on health care marketing and physician-hospital relationships,
and a mediator/facilitator for physician groups.
Ms Spinner received her BA in psychology from the
University of Michigan, her Masters in Social Work from Wayne State
University, and her Masters in Business (graduated with honors) from
Michigan State University’s Executive MBA program.

Michael Kessel, MBA, CPA
Vice President Finance and Business Development
As the financial manager of a $200 million medical-surgical products group
at Cardinal Health, Mr. Kessel was responsible for the strategic financial leadership
of the business. During his tenure, the self-manufacturing business unit grew revenues
6% per year and operating income 10% per year.
Mr. Kessel came to Cardinal Health from Ignition State, a web development firm.
As one of the founding members, Mr. Kessel grew the company over an 18-month period
from 5 employees and $20,000 in revenue to 55 employees and $3 million in revenue.
Prior to his tenure at Ignition State, Mr. Kessel was a supervisor at a public accounting
firm, where he worked with companies in various sectors.
Mr. Kessel holds a MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern.

Elizabeth Crane, MBA
Executive Director, Center for Partnership Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital
Ms. Crane is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the
Center for Partnership Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Prior to joining
Trio Health in April of 2005, she spent 12 years in both clinical and operational
roles at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. In her last position with CTCA she
was responsible for drafting and implementing standard operating and quality assessment
procedures throughout the hospital chain.
Ms. Crane has a Masters degree in psychology and an MBA from Northwestern University
Kellogg Graduate School of Business. She has special training and expertise in Lean
Systems Thinking, an operations methodology focused on improving quality and achieving

Jeff Klein
Vice President Information Technology
As the Vice President of Information Technology for Trio Health, Jeff Klein is responsible for the design, development and support of Trio Health’s information products and services. Mr. Klein has an extensive background in enterprise level system design and has been working in the health care IT field for many years.
Prior to joining Trio Health, Mr. Klein was the senior development manager with Physicians Interactive group, a business unit of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions (NASDAQ: MDRX). During his five years with Physicians Interactive, Mr. Klein was responsible for leading the technology division. Under his guidance the system expanded to provide e-Detailing services to over 70,000 physicians per year providing Allscripts with more than $12,000,000 in annual revenue.
Mr. Klein graduated in 1993 from Roosevelt University in Chicago with a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science.

Lorrie Elliott
Associate Medical Director
As Associate Medical Director for Trio Health and the Center for Partnership Medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Dr. Elliot is responsible for leading and managing clinical operations. Prior to coming to Northwestern and Trio Health, Dr. Elliott practiced internal medicine at the University of Chicago for 10 years where she most recently held the title of Associate Professor of Medicine.
She has been a consultant since 2002 to ABC World News Medical Coverage. Dr. Elliot earned her B.S. at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with high honors and with distinction, and her M.D. at Rush Medical College where she was awarded the Janet M. Glasgow Award of the American Medical Women’s Association, presented to the female student graduating first in class.
She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago. She is board certified in internal medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Her special interests include preventive health, motivation and exercise and women’s health.

Chairman Board of Directors
Robert Hurwitz is the Co-Founder, Founding Chairman, and former Co-CEO of Office Max, Inc., which he grew to a national chain. He
also founded Professional Housewares Distributors, Inc.
in 1979, which has become one of the nation's largest
housewares distributors.
In addition to his current role as founding owner and
Principal of The Coral Company, a real estate development,
construction, and management firm, he sits
on the board
of two other private companies in the health
care services and wellness space. He
has also been actively involved in the financing and operations of over 30 companies.
